It's Time to Talk About the Future of Our Region
What will the Sunshine Coast look like in five, ten, twenty years time? What will our neighborhoods look like? What will our parks and roads look like? What impact will climate have on our plans?
The Sunshine Coast Regional District’s Official Community Plan Renewal will provide the guidebook to help answer these questions and decide how the region will grow and change in the future.
Here’s the best part. YOU get to have a say in WHAT this guidebook looks like.
Why are we talking about this now?
The Sunshine Coast is an incredible place to live, which has led to population growth and affordability challenges. The region also has ongoing needs that require careful, collaborative planning, such as for: drought, aging infrastructure, hazardous areas, sensitive ecosystems, more frequent and intense winter storms. To address these challenges the region needs clear, consistent plans, developed in partnership with the community as well as science-based professionals, for how it will safely and affordably develop into the future.
