  • 2022 Home Composter Rebate

    Starting May 1, 2022, the SCRD will have composter rebates of $100 available for all homeowners of the Sunshine Coast. You will have until September 1, 2022 to apply. This includes all Electoral Areas, our islands, District of Sechelt, Sechelt Indian Government District and the Town of Gibsons. The rebate will be for the purchase of a new composter to support residents with starting or expanding composting at home.

    Do not purchase a composter until you have applied and received confirmation that you are eligible. Visit www.scrd.ca/composter-rebate for eligibility requirements, information on choosing a composter that will work for you and application forms.

    The Home Composter Rebate is closed for 2021. We are still accepting claim forms from pre-approved applicants and this webpage is still available. We are looking forward to hearing about how your composting journey progresses!

    How this year's rebate went was presented to the SCRD Board in September and the report can be found in the important links on the side. The next step is a budget proposal to continue this program for 2022, so stay tuned for more information.
