Evacuation Planning on the Sunshine Coast

As part of Sunshine Coast Emergency Planning, the SCRD is engaging with communities on emergency evacuation planning in the region.

Evacuation planning for the Coast will be rolled out starting with smaller communities, by creating individual stand-alone plans that will integrate into plans for three main “hub areas” on the Coast: Gibsons, Sechelt and Pender Harbour. A key part of this planning is hearing from you.

This is your space to learn more about this project and to read DRAFT plans for communities on the Coast.

Is it possible to improve access and egress to Tuwanek using the logging route behind the village. Sign posting a long it's route to Sechelt and maintaing the surface (clearing tree falls etc.) would at least give everyone a second way in and out.

Thank you for your suggestion. It has been passed on to the team formulating the emergency evacuation plans. Hope you can attend the session to provide your input in person.
